Who is Diana Nguyen?
Diana Nguyen is an Australian comedian, actor, and creative known for her vibrant personality, sharp humour, and multidisciplinary career. Alongside her work on stage and screen, she has built a substantial following on LinkedIn as a “#JoyFool” dancer—sharing energetic, feel-good content with more than 78,000 followers. Her message of joy and self-expression has taken her to international speaking engagements, including her TED Talk Joy Is My Caffeine (2020).
In 2021, Diana was recognised as one of the most influential Asian Australians, highlighting both her creative impact and her leadership within the community.

She is also the co-creator of Phi and Me TV, the first Vietnamese-Australian family comedy web series. The show has received international recognition, winning awards for writing, ensemble cast, and acting across multiple web festivals, and was named one of The Age’s top shows to watch. The project is currently in development for television with Screen Australia and Northern Pictures.
As a writer, Diana has contributed to a range of projects, including the Phi and Me web series, a Melbourne Theatre Company adaptation of Alice Pung’s Laurinda, and the short story 5 Ways to Disappoint Your Vietnamese Mother from Growing Up Asian in Australia. Across all her work, she brings a distinct voice that is energetic, authentic, and deeply rooted in lived experience.
